Our HISTORY

“Behind every successful woman, is a tribe of other successful women who have her back.”

The Fernwood Foundation was established in 2005 by Fernwood Fitness Founder and Managing Director Diana Williams.

The Foundation was set up to give back to the community, with the main initiative the Venus Program, established to empower disadvantaged women.

The 10-week program provided practical tools to help women in everyday life, covering topics such as stress management, self-esteem, health and beauty, diet and exercise, managing home finances and returning to work or study.

It included an exercise program in participants’local Fernwood Fitness club. Hundreds of women benefited from the Venus Program, making lasting lifestyle changes.

Fast forward to 2017, and the Fernwood Foundation partnered with Deakin University to promote good mental health and support women with anxiety and depression.

The program has evolved, but the focus of the Fernwood Foundation remains the same - changing women’s lives for the better.
